Are There Any Tools To Make Data Entry Easier, Faster, And More Accurate?

November 9, 2012

Q: Are there any tools to make data entry easier, faster, and more accurate?

A: Orange Leap’s rapid gift entry system can save time and improve data accuracy.  Let’s say you have a stack of checks for your capital campaign collected at a recent event:  you need to get them entered, processed, and associated with the proper client record.  With the rapid gift entry capability of the system, all of the checks can be entered without having to repeatedly reenter any of the information all of the checks have in common – for example, that the gift was by check, that the gifts were donated to your capital campaign, and that they were collected at that specific event.

Manual and repeated entry of that kind of information is not only laborious and time consuming – it presents an opportunity for manual error to creep in.  The rapid gift entry system makes things at once easier, faster, and more accurate.

Can I Create And Store Relationships Among My Constituents?

November 7, 2012

Q: Can I create and store relationships among my constituents?

A: It can be very helpful to know how your constituents may be related – either by family, affinities, the schools they’ve attended, or businesses that they work for.  While it can be important to know if one donor is a sibling, parent, or child of another donor, it can be even more important to record what companies your donors work for.

For instance, giving opportunities can be enhanced when you know that your prospective giver is working for a company that matches employee gifts.

Can Gifts Be Split Among Multiple Campaigns?

November 2, 2012

Q: Can gifts be split about multiple campaigns – such as a portion going to a capital campaign and another part being assigned to an annual appeal?

A: With Orange Leap, donors can split their gift – by percentage or dollar amount – to support whatever causes they wish.  For instance, they could donate $25 to your annual fund and $50 to your capital campaign – or continue to split their gift to support any number of different campaigns, funds, events, or other areas.

Orange Leap can automatically calculate which portions of the gift may be tax deductible or taxable (when a premium is involved, for example) and record what motivations prompted tje donation – such as newsletters, direct phone outreach, or an event.
