SaaS Executive joins Growing Nonprofit CRM Company
Former Convio National Director joins Orange Leap Systems
DALLAS, Texas – August 1, 2007 – Orange Leap Systems, a leading provider of constituent relationship management software (CRM) for nonprofit organizations, today announced that Software as a Service executive Philip Capps, the former National Director for the Faith-Based Market at Convio, has joined Orange Leap Systems as Vice President of Business Development.
Capps is known as a strategic and innovative leader who has helped hundreds of organizations across the nonprofit industry. Following a distinguished career as a high tech executive with global firms like Dell Computer and AT&T Capital, Capps joined Internet fundraising start-up Convio in 2001 where he was instrumental in developing solutions for nonprofit organizations such as The University of Texas, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, The Audubon Nature Institute, The University of Southern California, and The Dallas Museum of Natural History, among many others. While at Convio, Capps was an inaugural member of the ePhilanthropy Foundation Master Trainer Program.
In 2005 Philip launched the Faith-Based Market Division of Convio as National Director. Since that time he has leveraged web technology, marketing and fundraising strategy for Faith-Based Organizations such as Presidential Prayer Team, Lakewood Church, and Joel Osteen Ministries, as well as joint customers with Orange Leap Systems like Turning Point Ministries with Dr. David Jeremiah, Precept Ministries with Kay Arthur, and Insight for Living with Chuck Swindoll.
Orange Leap CEO Randy McCabe said, “We are thrilled to add someone with Philip’s deep fundraising technology experience to our team. We believe that his understanding of this market coupled with his knowledge of relationship fundraising will be another step toward making Orange Leap Systems the most trusted and effective relationship development software for nonprofit organizations.”
Philip Capps is the second major executive addition at Orange Leap Systems in the last 6 months following Leo D’Angelo – the new VP of Product Development and Professional Services who joined the company in February after leading successful ventures with eFax/jFax and Corprasoft.
Capps had this to say about joining D’Angelo and the rest of the Orange Leap team, “I have known and worked alongside Orange Leap Systems for over two years, and while I have long believed in the business acumen and integrity of Randy, Glenn (VP of Sales Glenn Wiebe) and the executive team, what I have seen Leo do at Orange Leap over the last six months has led me to believe that Orange Leap is the company working with nonprofits who not only cares about their clients but is also committed to bringing real innovation that will take them to another level of success.”
